The tourism of Jincheng features a diversity of natural scenery historic sights and old residences. Here you can enjoy the beauty of Taihang Mountain to know the long history of Xiachuan culture, Yandi’s tomb and ancient battle field of Changping. Great attention has been given to develop tourist sights in Jincheng as ancient architectural museum: Old village castles and the birth place of Weiqi. Thirty-five kilometers north of Jincheng is Shennong Town of Gaoping, where you can find the traces of Yandi or Shennong, the ancestor of Chinese.

Legend said that Yandi had moved from Jiangshui River in Baoji of shanxi Province and then settle in this area, where he tasted all kinds of wheat in thirteen for herbs, made farm tools and tart people to agriculture, completing the great transition from fishing and hunting to agriculture in the history of human beings.  In the area there are so many beautiful stories related to Yandi and many historical relics making up fantastic tourist attractions. Among the tourist resources of Jincheng, ancient architecture of magnificent science, great variety of long history are very famous. Among which are the pagodas with statues from Northern Wei dynasty.

The stone pagodas from five dynasties and over 2500 ancient buildings are various kinds from Tang to Qing times.  Among them are 46 wooden buildings before the Song and Jin taking up one third of the same period remaining in the country. In Jincheng you can find the new world’s relics of national treasures as the Song’s cultures in Yuhuang Temple of Zezhou, the mural paintings of Song in Kaihua Temple of Gaoping, and glazed twin towers in Huaihui Temple of Yangcheng. And one hundred million years old tree in Chongan Temple of Linchuan. And the stone dragon column temple of Guanyu and brick pagoda of Tang in Qinglian Temple.

In the heart of Lishan scenery areas there’s a residence of Liu Zhongyuan descendant, which was the first built about 1408. You can not only enjoy the buildings of Asian China, but also find out rise and decline of a distinguished family clan in the past. About 20 kilometers northeast Yangcheng county seat, there is an old castle. It is Huangcheng Village, a well-known ancient village and home of Cheng Tingjing, an important minister during emperor Kangxi period in Qing Dynasty. It has now become national 4A class tourist sight. This is a castle consisting many houses in the style of Ming and Qing times.

The entire village looks magnificent with battlements are surrounding it. The old houses and deep courtyards appear elegant and well arrangement similar to a landscape painting. Lishan scenery regions are well known for its beauty. Where you can find primitive forest, grass land, canyons and anthropological relics. In the east valley, you will find a chain of pools, as local people put it, the east valley is known for its stone while the vast valley spools.

There was a saying that the emperor Shun cut the peak in the center leaving a thin of cracking peak. Manghe tourist scenery area is said to be a mini Guilin in the north. It has the name of treasure land of animal and plant sources of Shanxi. The area is known for its transparent water and perilous mountains, where you can find great mountains and clear streams are so naturally blended together that it seems to be a heavenly picture in the human world.

Wangmangling tourist area is made up Wangmangling edge, the largest ecological tourist sight in north China. Qizi Mountain, the birthplace of Weiqi suspending Haiwei and Xiyagou.

The highest point here is 1665 meters above sea level while the lowest only 800 meters. With a changeable weather from top to the down hill different scenery can be found here all year round. Covering total area of 20 square kilometers and 17 kilometers away from Jincheng, Jueshan tourist area is a well known suburban tourist sight, where you can find steep mountains, clear streams and ancient temples. It is now a key project tourism under construction.
